What is CMYK?

Most printed materials you will see are printed in CMYK.  CMYK stands Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black and the text or images that you see printed are created using various combinations of those base colours.

When you mix Cyan and Magenta in equal parts you get blue.

Mix Magenta and Yellow in equal parts and get Red.

Mix Yellow and Cyan in equal parts and get green.

Mix all three in equal quantities and you get black.

Vary the percentages and you get other colours.

So, no matter what image or colour you want to print it can be printed as you require.

The beauty of printing with CMYK is that’s its cost effective.  As printers we don’t have to stock a myriad of colours and shades and tints or pantones to print your materials.
